Try this Listening test

 PART 1 

REMEMBER: You will hear something about all 3 pictures, so pay attention to the questions and listen for specific information. Are the verbs in the present, past, or future? 

PART 1
Questions 1-5. You will hear five short conversations. You will hear each conversation twice. There is one question for each conversation. For each question, choose the correct picture (A, B, or C).

PART 2  This part checks spelling, days of the weekvocabulary, numbers (time, dates, phone numbers, prices).

  • Write clearly. If you have bad handwriting, you can use all capital letters. (TUESDAY)
  • Think of words that mean the same thing: start/begin; end/finish.
  • Know the alphabet. When you see "name", it usually means you will have to spell something. If the word has been spelled in the listening, the spelling must be correct. 
  • Use capital letters where necessary:  MondayMr. Smith. 
  • Write numbers: 16 or sixteen (not both)
  • Prices: £19.75  (NO commas)
  • Time: 3:30 or 3.30 (NO 24-hour system)
  • Dates: 24 March,  24th March, March 24, or March 24th. If you can't remember 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th, just write the number. 
  • You will hear more than one date, number, time, or day of the week, so listen and read the information carefully.
  • You will have 10 seconds to read over the information.

PART 2
For each question, write the correct answer in the gap. Write one word OR a number OR a date OR a time. Look at questions 6-10 now. You have 10 seconds.

REMEMBER:
  • You can only use each answer once. There are choices, so you will not use 3. An example has been done for you. Do not reuse that letter. 
  • Listen for the words from the first list. Choose your answer and move on to the next.  
  • You will hear different words than what you read. Example: You hear -- She's writing messages on her phoneYou see -- sending text messages
  • You may hear one of the words or phrases more than once, so listen carefully before you decide which one to choose.
  • You have 15 seconds to look over the information.
